Here’s what new products to expect from Apple in 2023

As the calendar flips to 2023, Apple is expected to have a jam-packed year of new product releases. From updated iPhones and Macs to an AR/VR headset and a new HomePod, here are eight things we can expect to see from Apple in the coming year.

One of the biggest rumors surrounding the next iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 15 series, is the inclusion of a USB-C port instead of the current Lightning port. We may also see some design changes and the expansion of the Dynamic Island feature to all models in the lineup.

Apple is reportedly set to release a 15-inch MacBook Air, which will be similar in size to the 16-inch MacBook Pro but with a thinner and lighter design. The current MacBook Air measures 13 inches and was last updated in June.

The tech giant is also rumored to be working on an AR/VR headset, possibly to be called the Reality Pro, though reports on its release date have been conflicting. Some analysts predict that Apple may announce the headset as early as January, while others believe it may not be released until later in the year.

Apple is said to be developing a new iMac that will feature the M3 Apple silicon chip, though details on its design and size are scarce. There are also reports of an “iMac Pro,” though it’s unclear whether this is a separate product or the rumored M3 iMac.

Apple is also working on a new product for the home that combines a HomePod, an Apple TV, and a FaceTime camera. This device was originally reported in April 2021 and is expected to be released towards the end of 2023. It will offer standard Apple TV features like video streaming and gaming, as well as smart speaker capabilities like playing music and using Siri.

In June, we can expect Apple to announce the next versions of its operating systems, including iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, and watchOS 10. While we don’t yet know what updates these new software releases will bring, we can expect more information to be revealed as the date approaches.

After discontinuing the original HomePod in March 2021, Apple is rumored to be working on a new, full-sized version set to be released in 2023. The updated model is expected to have improved audio quality and will be powered by the S8 chip from the Apple Watch Series 8. Some analysts believe it could be released as early as the first quarter of the year.

Finally, Apple fans can look forward to the release of a new Mac Pro, which is expected to feature the M2 Ultra chip with a 20-core CPU, up to a 64-core GPU, and 64GB or 128GB of unified memory. There are also rumors of an “M2 Extreme” version, which will have a 40-core CPU, up to a 128-core GPU, and at least 128GB or 256GB of unified memory.
