Apple reveals AirPods 3 Refresh at October Keynote

Apple’s October Keynote took place only a few hours ago. In the event, Apple revealed their long-awaited MacBook Pro 14″ and 16″ refresh, along with 3rd Generation AirPods, and 3 exciting new HomePod mini colors.

The anticipated refresh to the iconic AirPods has finally come.

The new third-generation AirPods now feature spatial audio, a feature previously found on many of Apple’s other product lines. Spatial audio creates a three-dimensional listening experience to immerse you in the sound as if it’s coming from every direction. AirPods 3 also come with an Adaptive EQ which tunes music to the user’s ears, something already seen with the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max.

These new wireless buds are now water sweat resistant, giving you freedom of mind for taking these along with you on your runs on workouts or out and about in uneasy weather conditions.

In terms of battery and charging, these new AirPods benefit from MagSafe charging capabilities, and the battery life also gets a boost: 6 hours of listening time on one charge with up to 30 hours of total listening time with the case.

Overall, the 3rd-Gen AirPods from Apple become a perfect in-between of the original AirPods and AirPods Pro. While there is no Transparency Mode or Active Noise Cancellation like on the AirPods Pro, the stem does gets shorter and there is the iconic one-size-fits-all eartip which remains from previous AirPod generations. The AirPods 3rd Generation are available for purchase at a price of $179.
